The staff at the front desk was exceptional. Econo Lodge Ankeny — Des Moines is located off Interstate 35, just minutes from Des Moines and all its popular attractions and businesses. I had cold and running nose and she helped me as much as she could.. We loved this hotel so much, we are going to look for a My Place to stay whenever we travel!

This hotel is located 2 miles from Briarwood Golf Course. I normally look for Super 8 motels. One query: What happened to waffles for breakfast? Located in Ankeny, 8. This 2-star hotel offers a hour front The location was awesome! Desk clerk was super friendly and helpful!

We were in Ankeny for a family funeral which of course colors my perspective on the town, but my impression is that it is a growing and booming town. My family who is from the area said it's much bigger now than it used to be.
Traffic can be a little bit overwhelming. There are a lot of delicious restaurants. We didn't actually try to find anything else to do because we were there for a specific purpose. I liked the large selection to choose from when dining out and shopping in Ankeny. Having access to the freeway nearby was convenient. I enjoyed the lake view behind my hotel on SE Tones Dr. About the only thing I didn't like was having so much traffic in Ankeny.
The pool was good. Our room was dirty. We had to finish making the coffee on our first morning. Our key did not work for the outside door keypads. Our keys stopped working and we had to get new ones. Two rooms were ransacked by previous tenants down the hall from us and the doors were left open for other to see the mess. If you stay in a hotel near or at the same one I did. Food, stores and Adventureland were all less than 12 min away.
Food and stores were about a 4 min drive. So it was super convenient. Due to covid, there was no room service. The room smelled musty, and the hallway smelled bad. The staff was friendly enough. All in All it was a busy weekend for them state volleyball for kids. Couldn't use the outdoor with the fireplace. I liked that the hotel was in proximity to the highway.
My grandson was in a track meet and being by the highway made things easier. I also liked that their was a gas station across the street. The bed was comfortable and the room a nice size. We needed to book the room for another day and the staff was good to work with. Booked the room online and called the hotel to confirm that our belongings would not be moved and we could have the same room. Bad weather in the area and its close to a Mexican restaurant. Staff was polite. Your Face emoji rating would be better on a scale like the overall rating.
I requested a view of the pond and a top floor room it was a really great view. Extremely clean, friendly staff. Just a really top notch experience for a reasonable price. The location is perfectly located between family members and easily accessible from interstate. Stay was during time of massive travel delays and cancellations and hotel staff very supportive of changes in my schedule. Beautiful hotel and great facilities, including full kitchen, nice gym and pool, very nice staff and pet friendly.

Feb 21 - Feb Which is more a parent issue but still was nerve racking! The room could use better cleaning- it was quite dusty. Breakfast was good, fresh, and plentiful with great options.
Staff was very nice during check in and check out. Sheraton West Des Moines Hotel. Maybe angry they had to work on Christmas. There was no remote in our room, but we did not notice until bed time. I called the front desk and he paged maintenance, who did not answer so told him to forget it; did not want to wait up for someone to come.

There were only two minor hiccups. At checkin we were told that the hotel bar opened at 4PM and would stay open until PM. It was a Sunday evening, so that is perfectly acceptable. Surety Hotel.
